Vishing Scam

An Active Vishing Scam (Telephone Scam) has recently surfaced targeting Members 1st Federal Credit Union (in Pennsylvania) ATM Card users. The members of Members First Credit Union in Madison have received these e-mail's as well.

The fraudulent email states:
Members 1st Federal Credit Union suspects an unauthorized ATM based transaction on your account. Therefore as a preventive measure we will temporary limit your access to sensitive features. To ensure that your account is not compromised please call our security center at:[non Members 1st phone number].

The email requests recipients to complete an account update by calling a toll free phone number.

PLEASE NOTE: This email is not from Members 1st Federal CU or Members First CU and the phone number on the email is not a Members 1st Federal CU or a Members First CU phone number.

If you have fallen victim to this scam please contact the main branch immediately at (608) 271-5301 or (866) 238-0277.

If you receive a suspicious e-mail representing itself as Members First Credit Union, please forward the message to: info@mbr1cu.org.

When you report a suspicious e-mail, Members First CU will aggressively pursue the perpetrators and shut down Web sites and phone services fraudulently collecting information.

Please do NOT change the subject line of the e-mail you are forwarding. As a precaution, you should immediately delete the email from your inbox after forwarding.

Please remember...
Never give out any personal information that would compromise your identity - including your account number, Social Security number, credit card numbers, PIN's, passwords or mother's maiden name.
